A man was charged with two felonies, one aggravated kidnapping, in a domestic dispute that turned violent but that ended peacefully early Friday when he surrendered, Bexar County sheriff’s deputies said.

Adam Awad, 49, was at Bexar County Jail under bail totaling $200,000.  He was charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, said Deputy Chief Dale Bennett.

Awad was armed and confronted deputies, including SWAT, at the home in the 3500 block of Eva Jane, east of U.S. 281 in far North Bexar County shortly after midnight Thursday, Bennett said.

Awad’s wife told deputies he struck her with a weapon late Thursday after they had been arguing for days.  She left with their infant while two other children, ages 5 and 6, remained, Bennett said.

Bennett said no one was hurt, but one of the charges stemmed from Awad’s threat to shoot his children.
