Authorities are asking for the public help in the search for two women who attempted to steal hundreds of pairs of panties and boxers from sears at Ingram park mall.

The women entered the store may 2 with a shopping bag that they stuffed with the items.  One went to get the car then the other began walking out with the merchandise.

Three people were taken into custody after a pair of beer heists Thursday morning.  Officials said that shortly before 6a.m. three men armed with a knife and traveling in a blue PT Cruiser took beer from an Exxon station in the 800 block of San Pedro Avenue.

A description of the car was shared with law officers in the area and an off duty state trooper spotted it.

A San Antonio man has been sentenced to two years in prison for illegally exporting a radar component used on Navy ships that’s on a restricted munitions list.

A man faces up to 10 years in prison for receiving gear stolen from a federal marshal.  Steven Ricarte of San Antonio pleaded guilty Thursday to the receipt and concealment of stolen U.S. property.  Ricarte received equipment a co defendant Francisco Castro Jr took in August from the vehicle of a deputy U.S. marshal that was parked on West martin Street.  the marshal had stopped in San Antonio on his way to huto station in Del Riio.

The son of Bandera County Chief Deputy Richard Smith has resigned his post a sa jail sergeant over removing four single serving cartons of milk from the jail kitchen.

The Aug 31  incident led smith, who has headed the department since sheriff Weldon Tucker resigned in May, to end the tradition of letting jail staff eat excess food prepared for inmates.

But he said I want to implement a voucher program where county employees can buy meals from the jail kitchen.  Capt. Charlie Hicks said Richard Smith Jr. 23 didn’t dispute taking home the milk from the cooler, off limits to staff.

A months long investigation by the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office led to the indictment and arrest last week of an ingram municipal court clerk accused of dipping into fine and court cost money officials claim.

Rose Massey Robbins, was arrested Thursday charged with theft of $20k to $100k by a public servant, misapplication of fiduciary funds and tampering with a government record.  She was released after posting $45k bail.  Kerr County Sheriff’s Capt. Carol Twiss said she pored over four years of court financial records in the investigation that led  to Robbins arrest.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested Thursday after police said she begged two young people for change at a Northwest Side gas station two days earlier, then pulled out a handgun and got away in their vehicle.

Jaclyn Woo has been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.  Investigators said she approached a man and a woman in their early 20s Tuesday at a gas station near Northwest Loop 410 and Callaghan Road.

Woo, described as an attractive woman, asked the strangers for change before threatening them with a small, silver automatic handgun and taking off in their car, police said.

Officers located the Mazda sedan Thursday and caught Woo in the vehicle, said police Sgt. Jaime Trevino.

“One of the victims said he didn’t see her as a criminal,” Trevino said.  “You just never know when something like this is going to happen or who the actor is going to be.”

A former San Antonio police officer who had been sentenced to a five year prison term for stealing from fellow officers was ordered released Thursday.

Clifford Morgan served about six months behind bars.  State District Judge Ron Rangel had suggested during his sentencing in October that he might consider shock probation.

Morgan had been with the police department for 11 years when he was accused in 2006 of embezzling $104,000 from the San Antonio Police Officers’ Association while serving as the union’s treasurer.

He pleaded no contest to the felony theft charge in August, and on the day he was sentenced he paid $56,899 in restitution.  Rangel ordered him to continue making payments.

Prosecutors opposed the shock probation request.

Morgan’s history as a police officer puts his life in danger in prison, defense attorney Steve Price said after the hearing.  He was given a pseudonym before being placed in the general prison population.

A man accused of robbing a bank told reporters he did it to pay for back surgery, even though police said he had already blown most of the money.

“It wasn’t all that much,” Jacob Sanchez, 25, said Wednesday as he was escorted out of the San Antonio Police Department’s Robbery Task Force headquarters.  Asked if the crime was worth it, he said, “(Expletive), no.”

Sgt. Jaime Trevino said Sanchez stole a large amount of money from a far North Side bank off Gold Canyon Road on Monday.  He approached a teller with a threatening note demanding the cash, but he was unarmed and did little to conceal his identity, Trevino said.

Security camera video was released to the media, and tips led to Sanchez’s arrest, Trevino said.
